In the church, every Wednesday, starting on 12 March at about 12:30 CET, there will be a course prepared by the Diocese in Europe called Celebrating Nicaea, recognising that it is 1700 years since the Council of Nicaea took place. From it came a creed that later evolved into the Nicene Creed, a vital statement of orthodox Christian belief. Nicaea is now Iznik in modern-day Turkey, and is in our diocese. Within the Anglican Communion, we therefore have a unique reason to mark this anniversary.
The course will enable us to spend five sessions during Lent looking closely at the words of the Creed, and seeking to understand their meaning and significance more deeply.
Soup will be served!
More details on this can be found on the diocesan web site by clicking on the button below.
On Thursdays at 17:00 CET, starting on 13 March, in the church and on Zoom, there will be a series of four sessions on Exploring Prayer.
In this series we will practise different forms of meditative/contemplative prayer:
Lectio Divina - Praying the Bible with a listening heart
Imaginative Prayer - Praying with the Bible and our imagination
Centering Prayer - Silent prayer of pure surrender to God
Taizé Prayer - Prayer as meditative song
Each session will consist of a short introduction to the particular form of prayer, followed by practising the prayer. No previous experience necessary; an openness to God and a willingness to engage in the particular form of prayer is enough.
For the first two sessions, please bring a Bible and writing materials. For the Zoom link, please click on the button below.

This Lent, join us for a six-week journey through some of the Bible’s most morally complicated figures. The Bible is full of flawed people - leaders who abuse power, betray trust, and fail spectacularly. Lent invites us to sit with those stories rather than rush past them. From David and Ahab to Peter and Paul, Scripture does not shy away from stories of real sin, difficult repentance, and unexpected mercy.
Once a week during Lent, on Thursdays at 17:00, starting on 19 February, we will gather in a hybrid in-person/Zoom format for guided discussion, reflection, and prayer. Together we’ll explore what repentance actually looks like - not as self-condemnation, but as honest turning toward God - and how grace meets us even when our stories are messy.
No prior knowledge is required. Come with your questions, your doubts, and your willingness to listen.
To join, please use the purple button below for the Zoom link each Thursday (if asked for a password, please use 07720). For the participants' notes, please send an e-mail to chaplain@anglicanchurchmenorca.com with the heading 'Lent 2026.'
